3 Korean Skin Care Products I’ll Always Repurchase

What a strong title, hey? But experience speaks louder than words and I see myself having been using and repurchasing these three products for the past 2,5 years (trust me, I can easily track my shopping habit through my online shopping history >.<).

Pyunkang Yul and Cosrx. All are affordable Korean skin care, available on Sociolla (not sponsored!)

These three products I’ll be mentioning are: hydrating toner, sunscreen, and sleeping mask. Three products you can easily incorporate into your skin care routine whether you are following basic skin care steps or the 10-step skin care. These three products are always available and visible on my desk because they actually work. Do they work wonders? You won’t see wow-ing results in days but they maintain my easily-broken-out skin to be in its best condition.

Hydrating Toner: Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner

Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner.

At the beginning of using this product, I wasn’t instantly amazed or anything but I notice that when I run out of it, I miss it. It’s like not knowing what you have until it’s gone–except that–you can always buy more! Hahaha.

Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner.

Texture: thicker than most toners in the market. As the name says, it’s an ‘Essence Toner’ so you can use it in your toner step, or use it as an essence.I’d say people with dry skin will really enjoy using this, while people with oily skin, can skip their serum on lazy days and just use this toner and top it with moisturizers.

I don’t notice any scents/fragrance since the brand is made with minimal ingredients and is only focused on the ones our skin really needs

For when my skin is very dry from being in an AC or lazy to moisturize on the weekends, this essence toner saves me.

Night Cream: Cosrx Overnight Rice Mask

Cosrx Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask.

I am one to use basic moisturizer for both night and day since I get my specific needs through my serums. However, this overnight rice mask is very pleasant to use at night and it helps brighten my acne scars too–which is one of my biggest skin concerns.

The texture is quite light, not as thick as night creams you find in a jar but very moisturizing. I don’t notice any heavy scents either, for me this mask is almost scentless. On a lazy night, I can only use toner and this mask. Others use this as a morning moisturizer too but when I tried that, it’s too much for the day which made my skin kind of icky and oily. You can also use this as a hydrating wash-off mask, but who’s in their right mind… wash this amazing product off their face?! 🙂

Sunscreen: Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream SPF 50 PA+++

Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream SPF 50.

I am very picky about my sunscreen because other brands give me whiteheads/ break me out easily. I was first intrigued by the word ‘Aloe’ in the name which promises a calming experience. This sunscreen is very emollient, it’s quite thick in texture and has a light floral scent which I myself find quite relaxing. I don’t need to use an extra layer of moisturizer prior to applying this sunscreen.

It doesn’t leave whitecast on my medium skin. However, I notice when you apply too much product, it can cause piling on the skin (happened to me a couple of times). Overall, I always have this sunscreen available because if not daily, I will definitely use this on days when my skin is irritated (especially since wearing non-surgical face masks every day).

I will keep this post short and concise. Please always take notes that what works on my skin, may not work on yours, and vice versa 🙂 My skin is oily on the T-zone and is quote sensitive to products with heavy fragrance/ essential oils.
