So many posts to write, so little time to do it :p #excuses. Well, let’s start with how my skincare routine has changed in 2017 and how it broke me and fix me altogether. In the beginning of 2017, I (didn’t) carefully introduce acid to my skin and my face was turned into volcanic islands with tiny mountains waiting to erupt every day. My last, terrible, break outs happened in my early teens and I had been having spotless skin since then, so having to go back to this phase was frustrating. Enough said, by July 2017 I found a few good products that saved my skin like I have stated in this post, and this post. Now let me talk you through the routine that my skin have been loving:
Garnier Micellar Water
I don’t wear heavy makeup every day, and most of my work days are #foundationfree, although I put on sunscreen everyday which requires double cleansing. This micellar water works well enough (me thinks…) to cleanse my face from dusts and pollutions and minimal makeup days. I uses proper eye and lip makeup remover for eyeliner and such.
Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser
Since my first week of using this, I had ditched any other foam cleanser I had and besides using face scrub in every three-four days, this has been my go-to face cleanser because of how gentle it is (hence, the name) and how it moisture my face at the same time.
I don’t always uses this because I am lazy but I either sprits some face mists, or use this The Body Shop Oil Balancing Toner for my combination skin which helps to hold the oil on my T-zone. It smells heavenly too, reminded me of the smell of a beach.
I have used up a couple of bottles this year, but one I feel like the results and worth repurchase is The Ordinary Niacinamide + Zinc serum which applies and absorbs nicely on to the skin and helps A LOT in fading my acne scars.
I have tried a couple but in the last a couple of months, I have been using this Votre Peau eye cream, read my full review here.
I don’t like heavy creams because it gives me whiteheads, and this affordable, classic, staple from Olay does my skin just right. It leaves my skin feels nice and bouncy in the morning.
I have two favourites, one is from Bali-based brand Sensatia Botanicals, and the other one is from L’occitane. Both of these doesn’t feel greasy on the lips nor it makes my upper lip oily when I wake up (anyone else feels this?).
So, what’s your favorite skincare product in 2017? Please do remember that, we all have different skin condition, so what works for me might not work for you. My skin is combination, sensitive, and acne-prone. Do let me know if you have anything to recommend 🙂
